Stuart McGregor
Managing Partner : Advisory Practice
Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical)
“Transformation is an experience not an event. It’s about managing the risk associated with things staying the way they are.”
Stuart McGregor understands how to design and implement business models that keep companies competitive and relevant.
Stuart spent a decade in the military and engineering, where he established a solid grounding in leadership, strategy and design, followed by a formative decade getting broad manufacturing experience. Towards the end of this Stuart rose to the challenge of moving from line management to consulting roles, completing multiple enterprise resource platform implementations across a wide range of industries.
This experience with change from within laid the foundations for his analytical, logical approach to projects and his love of leading companies through essential, complicated, high profile transformations, first as a senior executive for two of the world’s leading transformation companies, Accenture and IBM, and now for CharterMason. He is energised by helping clients strategise, design and implement transformation programs in a world where globalisation is changing business – and the way we do business.
Within the scope of projects, Stuart has developed, managed and implemented strategies managing outsourcing, off-shoring, supply chain redesign, customer engagement, shared services, ERP and acquisition integration programs for clients like General Motors, Qantas, Telstra, Australia Post, Fonterra and NAB.
Stuart’s multi-discipline, multi-industry experience is invaluable to clients that are looking for new ways to compete or avoid mistakes that can be common when developing new business models and ways of working.
Making sense of how to deal with this kind of change while everyone else is trying to keep things the way they are is what Stuart does best. He works across senior leadership to ensure everyone knows what needs to be done and why, translating it to a plan that can be executed on providing the insight required for business and technology change to come together effectively.
Stuart’s style is engaging and collaborative. He knows how to integrate his skills and experience into organisations where those capabilities may not already exist, and to bring internal and external resources together as a leader on behalf of his client organisations. Having worked for both the transformers and the transformed, Stuart is a valuable player on any executive team looking to change the way their business operates.
